Export sculpties as LSL

Domino Marama's picture

Simply select "Second Life LSL" from the "File - Export" menu and choose a directory to export to.

Blender Menu - File - Export - Second Life LSL

This will save the selected sculptie's map and texture plus a short LSL script to recreate the prim inworld.

Example LSL Export File List

Import to Second Life®

In Second Life®, upload the .tga files from the directory. Create a new prim and edit the contents. Add the .tga files to the contents. Create a "New Script" in the contents and edit it.

In a text editor open the .LSL file, select all and copy.

Go back to Second Life® and select all the script then paste the script you copied from the text editor over it. Save the script and it will run and turn the prim into the sculptie you exported from Blender.

Hi, i downloaded primastar, and all seem to run just fine.

What im trying to do is import small parts of my companies robots to blender as wrl (created from .step file) and turn them to sculpties, but when i select bake to sculpt nothing happens. Well actually i can't even see the u/v image (y im a blender noob)

When i select just only a surface of the mesh (like the upper part) i can see the u/v image map, and i can export it as a tga, but when imported it creates just a total mess

the truth is i would like to know what are the conditions of the object so it can be exported as a sculpt, and i would be grateful for any other suggestion cauz actually after weeks of struggling with how to get .step to second life for the company, you are my only hope

thanks in advance, and thanks for creating primastar

Converting existing models is the most difficult way to create sculpties. I don't recommend doing it until you understand the sculptie format completely. Once you do, you'll realise that 99% of the time it's quicker to remodel than to convert.

my blender dont have secondlife as a export option what i have to do??

I've not updated the manual to include it yet. It'll be there before the scripts go to version 1.0.0

Basically after baking just parent the objects to the root prim in Blender, then do Export - Second Life LSL. This saves everything you need into a folder. Upload textures and copy paste the LSL script into the contents of a prim in SL. When you run the script it'll give you instructions on what to do next.

This is a useful reply to multi-prim bake manual info http://dominodesigns.info/node/233
