New scripts up with add mesh support for VWR-9384

Unfortunately the latest word from Qarl was that VWR-9384 would not make it into the next release. This could mean people start making sculpties with the wrong sizes and then "legacy" content would prevent VWR-9384 from ever being implemented. Please let your voice be heard on this important issue and vote now, as tomorrow may be too late!

Don't worry

Apart from the 4 x 8 minimum for oblongs, we eventually got everything else. Although I believe there's still a bug or two in "lossless" uploads (and / or texture downloads) that affects the ability to use the smaller sculpt map sizes successfully. It was the 1.23 viewer when this eventually got in.

ok good

I could see the rope moving both ways quite a few times in that little tug o war over the semantics...  I just didn't know if you had still lost ground through it.  It was one of those few times that I wish I were a little more educated to be able to join the discussion, but knew there was nothing viable that I could have contributed except logic, reason, and conservation of the best and most versatile techniques....  I technically don't even know where that would have placed me, so I am just glad that it worked out as best as possible.

Will there be anything that would directly affect us Blender users, or simply the objects and data formats currently in-world.  I was unclear as to what it was affecting: the import process or the already-imported, or both.

I am working on your documentation and a full journeyer's guide to Blender and SL sculpties, too.  I will review the entire SL forum thread on it when I have time to fully document everything in there, and I have a lot of other external links and recources, and will most likely include a YouTube search result URL for both Blender tutorials and sculpty-related media that could be of use, or even updated to current/post-current status according to your finished additions, edit, and release.  I can see now that there are many more script functions in your files than I was previously aware, and many of which I am not even sure what to do with them or how...  But we will get there.  My review of the issues, concerns, and questions of the forum will help, and I am making one final pass over my own resource links to make sure I am not missing anything else helpful and useful to your documentation needs.  Wink

Best wishes,-will

Dear gods, Domino - I read

Dear gods, Domino - I read this whole page/jira/whatever, and I get where you're going....  I just don't have enough knowledge of what the heck all this data is all about to make an educated statement on it.  I know what you mean: preserve the old content and keep new content clean and convertable, but also have a way to make non-squared LOD sculpties turn into squared of the same....  But I don't know how to argue that point.

What should I do here to help your point?  I know it's about the math, and I just want people to listen and stop getting so frustrated with something that is applicable to 3ds and blender users.-will
