Windows 7 64bit Blender User

Hey, I've just been starting with Blender recently. Getting help from videos and friends somewhat really. I'm going to be using it for the majority of my sculpts that I will be creating for Second Life. My problem here is getting to actually find a way to get it to work for Second Life. I've installed python, and placed in the Blender Shell inside. But I didn't get the sculpty mesh next to the snake icon. So I asked my friends if there was another way to do this. Unfortunately, they do not have Windows 7, they Vista and XP. They do have 64 bit aswell, but because of the large changes they made to 7, I'm not sure we'll beable to help eachother much on this. So what should I do?

hey sonicbeyond

Had the chance to test Primstar 1.0.0 on a Windows 7 32bit months ago without any trouble. All I had to do first was get a copy of  Blender 2.49b Zip Archive (32bit); a copy of Python 2.6.4 (32bit) at that time and of course a copy of Primstar 1.0.0. All that right inside my USB Stick. Plugged the thingy: 1) copied its content to the desktop; 2) unzipped blender, primstar and installed python; 3) grabbed the "primstar" folder into the blender's folder script subfolder; 4) executed blender, it worked; 5) grabbed down blender's user preference window; 6) specified the scripts path, 7) grabbed up the user's preference window and Cool finally saved the changes hitting Cntrl+U.

The same procedure should work for windows 7 64bit, remember to install the 32bit versions of blender and python.

Installing Primstar in Windows 7 (32bit)

Hello I'm having the same problem, I can't seem to install the script either. I'm running Windows 7 (32bit), Blender 2.49b and Python 2.6.2. I've selected the user defined directory in my desktop, created a folder named "Primstar" and pasted there all the files from the primstar_1.0.0 zip, and run the console with the command "c:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\blender" -P install.py" and I still get the error: no such file or Blender text -- install.py"
Can anyone please help me? Oups
Thank you so much in advance.

Jumped through hoops

Hi.
I must be really stupid. I have tried to no avail to get primstar onto blender. I followed the instructions as best I could and can't get it to work. I can't get the subpath right or I might be in the wrong area. I have been trying for almost 5 hours to figure it out and am ready to give up. Any reall dumb and simple walk throughs would be wonderful right now.
Thanks,
Suncat.
